When we are all done it looks good as new, you'll hardly notice the small strip of matching leather we added down the sides of both boots to cover the zig zag stitching. We've had a lot of people give us positive feedback and tell us how happy they are to have boot tops that finally fit.

In this case, its best to write down the circumference of your leg at the widest part of your calf and tell how much you’d like taken out of each side of the boot. Most often we remove one inch out of each side. But everyone is different and every boot is different.

Looking for new boots that fit perfect?
Yes this is possible. I think slimming them down would help a significant amount, especially if the boot tops are just catching on your pants. If your boot tops are actually coming out of the pants legs then adding 3" might help as well. This is possible, by sewing a piece of leather at the top and moving the boot pulls up.
If you would like the boots much narrower a zipper could even be added.
I wear boots to work almost every day of my life. I have slim legs and also my pants legs stay caught up in the tops of them when I get out of my patrol car. Is it possible, and feasible, to slim and lengthen the boot shaft? I normally get 10 inches anyway. Maybe lengthened to a 13 inch shaft?
I have a pair of double he women's buckaroo boots with pull holes that are too wide in the shaft. I need to find alteration help. After surveying them, I found that if you take it in by cutting out a v strip on the sides under the pull tabs, then they would look weird, b/c the pull holes would be spaced too close together.
They are quite baggy in shafts with way too much space right now. Can you do an alteration by taking these in, in the back, instead? that way the pull holes are not too close together. (see Double H Women's Daniella round toe buckaroo boots images online). they have a very low deep v cut and pull holes so doing this type alteration might not work, but perhaps taking them in in the back of the boot might work? thanks.
Hello Phil,
These are alterations we can do. If you'd like you can send us an email at [email protected] with a picture of the boots in question for a price estimate.
Hello. I have a pair of boots with a 13” shaft that I like to reduce by 4”. I need the shaft diameter also reduced by 1”each side. Wondering if you can add zippers?
Hello Caden,
Space around your calf in a cowboy boot depends entirely on your comfort. They shouldn't be tight. I'd say its normal to have about a half inch of space around your leg all the way around. And to be able to fit your hand down the shaft but perhaps not your fist.
As of Aug. 2020 the price for us to narrow boot tops is $75 per pair.
Hello, I just ordered a pair of boots but the top of the boot shaft is to big for my calf so much so that i can fit my hand in the gap when i wear them . what do you suggest is a good gap to have on a pair of cowboy boots and can i please have a general estimate on how much an alteration would be to decrease the calf of my boot
I just bought a new pair of boots I absolutely love them they look good from the front but not from the side they look very large.
Thanks for the question Yadriana, it depends on the job but turnaround time once we get them is roughly a week.
